2012 U.S. Senator from Arizona Election Information
Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) has been the junior U.S. Senator from Arizona since the 1994 election season, serving alongside senior Sen. John McCain. McCain (R-Ariz.) won re-election to another four-yeear term in 2010, while Kyl announced prior to the current election season that he would not seek another term in 2012.
Seeking to replace Kyl alongside McCain in Washington are Republicans Wil Cardon, Jeff Flake, Bryan Hackbarth and Clair Van Steenwyk, as well as Democrat Richard Carmona.
The Aug. 28 primary election will serve to narrow down the field to a singular Democrat facing a singular Republican in the November general election.
