Our Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen and Coast Guardmen (before the feminists attack....these are all "generic" Military descriptions).....need basic hygiene items that are not supplied by the Military. Many of these Military Men and Women are on desolate, out of the way or even precarious posts and bases. They have ..."NO".. Post Exchange or Base Exchange truck or small store to buy the basics suchs as disposable razors, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower gel, or most importantly = BABY WIPES. Being that many of these Forward Operating Posts or Bases have...."NO SHOWER" facilties (other than 3-4 16oz bottles of water to rinse with once every 10 or more days). You can only imagine the discomfort and smell that comes from not being able to "clean" themselves...for days on end. Cookies, snacks, jerky, licorice sticks, gummy bears and cough drops (important when you are on a night patrol or mission in dangerous territory). Chewing tobacco, cigarettes and cigars are...Treats from Heaven..for many of our Military in Afghanistan too (if you can afford it....I know how expensive these tobacco items are).
You can send these items through many established Military Package Groups or do like I did and buy and send the items that are specifically requested by individuals, small and big groups (depending on your income). I sent packages through ..."AnySoldier.com". That way ...100% is expended by me and 100% of the requested items go ..."DIRECTLY"...to the Military men and women who asked for them. The "AnySoldier.com" website is not just for Army Soldiers but for every Military Service. You can visit the website and it will describe how to "choose" your Military member or members, what their Military address is in Afghanistan, how to complete the (free) necessary US Postal Service Customs form(PS 2976-A and the clear plastic envelope PS Form 2976-E) and where to request the free US Postal Priorty Military Mailing boxes that have a fixed shipping cost of $12.95.
Does it take a little effort on your part ??? The answer is yes. Do you feel wonderful when you get a letter back sent directly to you from the Military member in Afghanistan......THE ANSWER IS.........YES.
GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY MEMBER OF OUR ARMED FORCES AND KEEP THEM FROM HARM'S WAY.
