Get a close look at aircraft, unique cars, military vehicles and more on Saturday, March 23, 2013 when the City of Mesa’s Falcon Field Airport hosts its fifth annual Open House. The event will showcase the vital aviation and economic role of Falcon Field and its many businesses to the Mesa community.

Visitors see a variety of aircraft at the Open House, including Boeing’s Apache helicopter, vintage warbirds, experimental aircraft and general aviation planes. An exhibit by the Commemorative Air Force will illustrate Falcon Field’s origin as a pilot training base during World War II. Representatives from area aviation education programs and businesses will be invited to discuss career opportunities and training.

Other planned highlights include a classic car show, model railroads and a radio-controlled aircraft display. Food vendors and music will add to the fun! The open house will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on the airport at Falcon Field Park, 4636 East Fighter Aces Drive (north of McKellips Road between Greenfield and Higley roads). Admission and parking are free. Canned food donations will be accepted for the United Food Bank.
