The Spanish caregiver forum will focus on the chronic diseseases that often make both caregiving and aging challenging. Claudia Martinez from the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center will talk about Parkinson’s disease, Ramiro Camarilla will present tips to caregivers on how to avoid depression, and Gabriel Augusto Pardo will lead the group in exercises. Sandra Gonzalez from the Alzheimer’s Association will speak about the warning signs of Alzheimer’s and how to cope with the disease. $3.00 per person includes breakfast, lunch, and materials. There will be community resources, as well as games, prizes, food and mariachis. Duet is hosting the event. Duet is a Valley non-profit that promotes health and well-being through a broad range of services to homebound adults, caregivers, faith communities, and grandparents raising grandchildren.
