Arizona’s favorite New Year’s Eve destination is blasting back to the past to ring in 2013. Mill Avenue’s New Year’s Eve will revisit the origins of their celebrations by hosting a free community celebration on December 31, 2012. For the first time in decades, access to Mill Avenue’s restaurants, shops, and unique culture will be free and open to the public to enjoy a night of live music, entertainment, food, and fireworks.
The celebration will have a little something for everyone. A Family Fun Zone, Sponsored by Chevrolet, will bring family fun to the streets with Radio Disney’s Rockin’ Road Show. Emcees, DJs, and music will captivate audiences with music, dancing, and interactive games from 6-9pm on 7th Street. Professionally trained Disney staff will provide entertainment for both kids and parents in true Disney like fashion. Game trucks, laser tag, and bounce houses will also be on site for added fun.
Starting at 9:30pm, live music from two local bands will be performed on the Radio Disney Stage, lasting past midnight. At 9:30pm, dance-pop duo S.O.S. takes over with their energetic combination of party rock and hip-hop. Bluegrass/ Americana/ Folk-pop outfit Jared & The Mill begin at 11pm and take us through the countdown to 2013 at midnight.
Two fireworks shows will help announce the coming of 2013. At 9pm, an early show will allow kids and families to partake in the annual tradition of New Year’s Eve, while adults can witness the 12am fireworks show officially celebrating Arizona’s strike of midnight.
Revelers can choose from over 60 restaurants and grills located in the Mill Avenue District for food options. From fast-casual to fine dining to family friendly dining, our restaurants offer a front row seat to all the happenings and goings on, giving a perfect view for your whole group to enjoy. Food vendors will also be on hand near the Radio Disney Stage.
Starting at 6pm and continuing until 2am, Mill Avenue’s famous bars and clubs will be offering a variety of 21+ celebratory options throughout the night including live entertainment, DJs, and extended party areas. Bars and clubs will have their own cover charges that evening.
