The Pokémon Trading Card Game City Championships is a free-to-play event that provides Pokémon players the opportunity to compete in the Play! Pokémon Championship Series and enjoy the skill, strategy, and fun with other Pokémon Trading Card Game players.

As an officially sanctioned event in the 2013 Play! Pokémon Championship Series, players in three organized age divisions will compete at Hero Comicsto earn Championship Points that go toward a potential invitation to the 2013 Pokémon World Championships next August in Vancouver, BC. Additionally, competitors are vying for the prestigious title of Pokémon City Champion. The Pokémon City Championship tournament is a free event for all participants and fans.
