PHOENIX, AZ – Bring your friends, family and neighbors to find out what YOU can do to reform Maricopa County’s broken animal shelter system at the 1st No Kill Maricopa County Open House/Fundraiser, sponsored by No Kill Maricopa County on July 18, 2012 at the Paradise Valley Community Center in Phoenix

The event will feature puppy kissing booths, puppies for adoption, as well as local author AJ Meadows who will be signing her book, “Hurricane Katrina Animal Rescue – A Story Buried Deep” and raffle prizes (pre-registered attendees who bring an adult guest will receive a free raffle ticket). In addition, No Kill Maricopa County board members will be on hand to answer questions about the group, shelter reform, and how our entire community can help save 90% or more of the dogs and cats that enter MCACC (the pound), as opposed to the current +/-50% (approximately 23,000 cats and dogs were killed last year at MCACC).

There is a crisis in our Maricopa County shelters, but it’s not one of “Pet Overpopulation”, it’s a crisis of leadership, accountability and transparency. No Kill Maricopa County wants OUR county shelters to mirror OUR values, and it will take the entire community to enact the necessary changes.
