Members of a state commission say they expect to recommend that Arizona consider privatizing at least some state parks and increasing the state's reliance on privately operated prisons.
Gov. Jan Brewer formed the Commission on Privatization and Efficiency earlier this year. The panel submitted a preliminary report several months ago but now is preparing a larger report that is due to be submitted by Dec. 31.
A spokesman for the state agency doing the commission' staff work says recommendations aren't yet final.
The commission's consideration of privatization proposals regarding parks and prisons was reported by Phoenix television station KPHO.
