Gas prices reached a 30-month high this week, with the statewide average Thursday at $3.598 per gallon, 3.6 cents over last week, according to AAA Arizona.
In the East Valley, drivers were paying $3.599 a gallon, or 2.4 cents higher than the previous week.
The current state and nationwide fuel averages - $3.725 - are the highest April fuel prices AAA has on record.
Oil reached $108 a barrel last week, its highest price since September 2008. AAA Arizona also attributes the increases to refineries across the country continuing to make the change from winter to summer blends.
