Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) governing board members, MCCCD leadership and Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) president Linda Lujan participated in a ground breaking ceremony of the new Coyote Center located on CGCC’s Pecos Campus on March 22. The Coyote Center will serve as the front door to the college in location, appearance and function. It will provide a range of services to new and continuing students ranging from admissions and enrollment to advising as well as support of student fitness and athletics. Student enrollment services will be delivered through a one-stop model, consistent with the One Maricopa “Seamless Student Experience.”

The new 74,859-square-foot-facility will provide access to fitness, wellness and athletic programs through incorporation of associated classrooms, fitness/sports performance center and a gymnasium. Co-located with these services will be early outreach and dual enrollment advising groups, career services, student support services and recruitment. This will enable cross-pollinating of ideas and processes to enhance the CGCC student experience from orientation to career and educational planning, to access to needed support services. On the athletic side, the space will house the athletic offices, a gym with spectator seating, locker rooms, study rooms, storage facilities and a fitness center. The new building is targeted for completion in June 2014. Learn more at cgc.edu/coyotecenter.
