Catholic Charities Community Services is seeking volunteers from the community to help those in need receive free tax preparation.
Last year, volunteers contributed more than 1800 hours helping 891 individuals and families throughout central and northern Arizona to receive $1,650,544 in state and federal refunds.
We hope to do even more this year! We need volunteers as tax preparers, greeters and site coordinators. No experience is necessary. We provide all the training and materials.
Catholic Charities is an IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance provider. Through trained volunteers, we provide free income tax preparation to low- to moderate-income individuals and families. We help them receive the largest qualified return possible by helping them with the Earned Income Tax and other qualifying credits.
The tax preparation is part of EmpowerU, our program to help vulnerable individuals and families to permanently improve their financial situations and achieve long-term prosperity through education, skill and resource building, planning and mentorship.
Free tax preparation will be offered in the community starting in early February and will continue through April 15 by appointment.
