My name is Kevin Hartke and I have lived in Chandler for the past 25 years with my awesome wife, Lynne, and four incredible children. Lynne and I will be celebrating our 29th anniversary in August.

I have the vision, experience, wisdom, temperament, consensus building abilities and work ethic to lead. As a fiscal conservative, I will work tirelessly to help Chandler during these challenging times. I have devoted the last 25 years serving Chandler as a pastor, public servant and community leader.

I was honored to be selected from a field of great leaders by the City Council in January of 2008 when a vacancy occurred by Councilmember Sepulveda's call to serve with the National Guard in Iraq. I have not slowed down in leading and serving since I stepped down from City Council a year and a half ago.

My leadership with chairing Chandler's Census Committee helped make Chandler one of the most responsive cities in the entire county. This work will ensure that an increased revenue stream is in place that will bring $400/person/year for the next 10 years. Our work will also make sure that increased political representation in our state will come to Chandler and an additional Arizonan ...or two, will go to Washington.

As a Planning and Zoning Commissioner, I work first-hand with the business community that is currently working in Chandler and/or wanting to come to Chandler. This appointment has given me a depth of understanding of the general plan and city code that is invaluable for making decisions affecting Chandler's future. As a commissioner, I often work with developers outside the P&Z meetings to offer suggestions to improve the quality of their projects.

As the director of For Our City, Chandler, I work closely with the Mayor and city staff to plan events, projects and initiatives to maximize volunteer efforts in our city. This collaboration extends to surrounding communities. I have the skills and relationships with mayors, councilmembers and community leaders outside of Chandler to better serve our community as a regional leader. Currently we are building a volunteer force around education, improving neighborhoods and providing essential needs within our community with resources provided from the community.

I have the support of 4 Chandler mayors (Boyd Dunn, Jay Tibshraeny, Coy Payne and Jerry Brooks) and the majority of our current council (Vice Mayor Bob Caccamo, Rick Heumann, Jeff Wenninger, Matt Orlando and Jack Sellers). Community leaders like Patti Bruno, Henry Salinas and many others are working to see me return to City Council. They endorse me because of my genuine commitment to helping people, our community and its future. My ability to work with a broad spectrum of people has made me an excellent problem solver and the best choice for Chandler City Council.
