Simply stated, I have enjoyed serving the citizens of Gilbert as a council member for 11 years with a balanced budget every single year without deficit spending while creating a great quality of life.
I am a fiscal conservative and a pragmatic Republican. I thrive on efficient and effective government that creates opportunities for businesses and individuals while removing and minimizing obstacles and barriers.
I have proven to be a leader who is forward looking, problem solving, and results oriented. I am pro-life, pro-education, pro-business, pro SB1070 and a fiscal conservative.
I have been a successful small business owner for over 25 years. I know the challenges that government can create for business especially small businesses.
I have been a resident of Gilbert and Legislative District 22 for 26 years. I have been married for 33 years and have raised my family in Gilbert and three of my children have graduated from the Gilbert Public Schools.
To my family and me, education is crucial and critical to Arizona's future. Public funds consistently and wisely invested today in our education system today will return dividends in the future of a skilled and educated work force that will compete in the global economy. I will work to fund effective and efficient education in Arizona.
With a skilled and educated workforce, Arizona will attract businesses in industry, emerging technologies, manufacturing, and research and development. However, the barriers to business need to be reduced or eliminated. I will work towards making Arizona a business friendly state.
Arizonans need the safety that comes from a secure border. The state does not need the problems of other countries threatening the safety of our homes, our families, or our state. I will work to stop the problem at the border!
When elected, I will take these same skills and values to the state legislature to serve you and the State of Arizona.
In short, I have the tried, tested, and proven leadership capable of representing your interests and concerns in the Arizona State Legislature. I have listened and responded to the citizens of Gilbert as I served on the town council. I will listen and respond to the residents of Legislative District 22.
I would appreciate your vote in the primary election.

Mr. Urie-
You have spent a lot of energy in this campaign attempting to sell yourself as something you are not. Just because you say you are a conservative does not make it so. You voted for three tax increases in a single day last June as a member of the Town Council. Later the entire council was reprimanded by the Goldwater Institute. You claim to be for school vouchers, yet not for private schools (I don't even know how that would work). You voted to allow the SEIU into our town. You didn't answer almost half of the Republic's questionaire and you are endorsed by unions. Do you even comprehend what a conservative is? You are entitled to you political views, but to intentionally mislead the public as to those views in an attempt to win an election is a glimpse into who you are as a person. With any luck, this will be the last election you will take part in because the last thing we need when our state and our country are in such dire straights is another politician willing to say anything to get elected.
