A 1948 Tucker Torpedo, from the collection of Chandler car collector Ron Pratte, sold for a record $2.9 million at the Barrett-Jackson auto Auction at Westworld in Scottsdale on Saturday. There were just 51 cars produced and about 38 of them are believed to be in existence. The car was made popular by the late 1980s Hollywood motion picture, "Tucker: A Man and His Dream," and was just the fourth one to go through the auction in its 41 years.
