The state saw a dip in the number of lab-confirmed influenza cases in the most recent week reported, ending Jan. 8. There were 347 new cases, with 135 in Maricopa County.
Arizona still has a widespread number of influenza cases. There have been 1,508 confirmed cases since the start of the season in September. One pediatric death has been reported.
Arizona’s peak influenza activity typically comes later in the flu season.
