TUCSON — The Pima County Sheriff's Department says the deaths of a man and woman in a Tucson home are being investigated as a murder-suicide, and that the man shot himself after calling a 911 operator to say he had shot his wife.
Their names were withheld pending notification of relatives.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Dawn Barkman says a man called 911 about 11:55 p.m. Sunday and told the dispatcher he had shot his wife and intended to shoot himself.
She says the dispatcher then heard a single gunshot.
Barkman says deputies who arrived at the house found a man dead just inside the home with a weapon next to him.
They found a woman dead in a bed in the master bedrooom.
