"Arizona's leaders have shown themselves to be quite adept at creating tax cuts and reducing public spending".
Cheap shot...Mike. Maybe you aren't aware that "Arizona's leaders" must deal with the "balanced budget" provision in the Arizona Constitution and creating job growth through business tax cuts to bring in more "revenue into the kitty". Let me explain how Arizona's "balanced budget" works, Mike. 1. Say, Arizona produces...100 apples. 2. Say, Arizonians eat ... 100 apples. 3. When you subtract 100 apple eaters from the 100 apples that Arizona produced you have ...Zero, Nada, Nein, Nyet...apples left. 4. In good years, Arizona produces 110 apples and you have 10 apples left over. 5. In bad years, Arizona only produces 90 apples and 10 apple eaters go without. 6. In real, real bad years like the ones Arizona has experienced lately, only 70 apples are produced and 30 people go without.
Now, Obama and his Democrat Administration don't have to worry about a "balanced budget" being in the United States Constitution so they can borrow apples from Communist China and promise to pay them back some time in the future....trillions of apples to be precise.
So Mike, maybe "Arizona's leaders" are just doing the best that they can with the apples that they have....did you ever think of that ???
Our current leaders balanced the budget, but now you want us to borrow money to invest in our future. Ok, but like any intelligent person knows, all debt must be re-payed, and bonds are debt. The tax and borrow and printing of more money inflation days must stop. Pay as we go with some borrowing that can and will be paid off in short order is the only sensible way to do business. Any intelligent family knows they can't just keep paying their bills with credit cards forever. There will always be a day of reckoning. As Leon stated, "Arizona's leaders" must deal with the "balanced budget" provision in the Arizona Constitution. Lets keep it that way.

If you have 100 apples for 100 people and no way to get the apples to the 100 people you have a problem.
