The Arizona Supreme Court has ruled that truckers working for Swift Transportation who claim the company routinely shorts them for mileage can take their case to trial.

The complaint, filed nearly eight years ago in Maricopa County Superior Court, says Swift used database software that shorts drivers a significant percentage of their mileage and limits their pay.

The state's highest court declined to review the trial court's decision to certify a broad class action based on a vacated 2008 appellate court decision, meaning a trial now can proceed.
