Rep. Rich Crandall, R-Mesa, has been appointed as vice-chair of the National Conference of State Legislatures' (NCSL) Standing Committee on Education, according to a news release. His one-year term will begin at NCSL's Fall Forum Dec. 9-11 in Phoenix.

Crandall, a former member of the Mesa Unified School District governing board, was also appointed to the Digital Learning Council, a group created by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush of 50 national leaders to create "a roadmap for digital learning," the release said.
