TUCSON - Pima County authorities say a man who was driving a car that struck a group of 10 bicyclists Saturday during the El Tour de Tucson race has been identified through an attorney.
Pima County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Deputy Dawn Barkman says they're not releasing the man's name because the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities and witnesses say an elderly driver fled after colliding with 10 bicyclists and seriously injuring five.
The five injured were taken to hospitals Saturday with various injuries.
Barkman said earlier the most seriously injured was 42-year-old Gary L. Stuebe of Surprise.
Although he was listed as critical, Stuebe was stable enough to be transported to a Phoenix hospital.
