LAS VEGAS — Nevada officials say they're no longer recognizing concealed weapons permits from Arizona after the state relaxed some of its training requirements.
The decision takes effect this week, after a unanimous vote last Thursday from the Nevada Sheriffs' and Chiefs' association.
Association officials say Las Vegas firearm instructors first notified them about the changes in the training requirements.
Nevada Department of Public Safety officials say they contacted the Arizona Department of Public Safety and confirmed changes were made in 2010 and 2011.
Those include adjustments to the minimum training requirements, and the elimination of statutory marksmanship and judgmental shooting requirements.
Association officials say the requirements are now too different from Nevada's for the state to recognize the permits.
Arizona public safety officials didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Good news, that other states are finding out that Arizona's requirements for a CCW is a joke..

You can carry as many concealed weapons on you that you want. I am all for it and believe in the right to bear arms. But please get training in marksmanship and shoot don't shoot scenarios. My God, to pass a law such as this is the most ridiculous piece of legislation ever to come before a governor and she signed the darn thing. It is really scary to know some knot head across the street from you is carrying a 9MM he just bought concealed, maybe even from a dealer who does not have to get checks, and he has either never fired it or never had to show that he can hit the broad side of a barn nor was he trained in when he should or should not shoot. The only thing he knows is he is allowed to shoot someone to protect himself. Not good in a metro area of several million people who are subjected to this persons whim. I say kudos to Nevada for trying to protecting their citizens.

... and the problem is ...? ... that Arizona's untrained, gun addicted fanatics are insulted? ... they are "infinged" by Nevada??? It's a breath of fresh air that the NRA doesn't dictate law in every state from Washington, DC. Maybe Nevada learned from history ... when Nevadans see armed Arizonans, Nevadans see the Clantons and not the Earps.
