Dozens of state offices will be closed Friday as state employees take their third required furlough day of the fiscal year.

As part of steps to save the state money, lawmakers approved six unpaid days off for state employees this fiscal year. Additional days are planned next fiscal year.

The furloughs do not impact the State Hospital, prisons, law enforcement or public safety.
